Angelina Jolie slams 'deplorable' leak of documents in custody battle with Brad Pitt
Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are locked in a custody battle over their six kids. On Wednesday, Jolie's representative slammed reports claiming a judge has warned the actress, asking her to allow her ex-husband Brad Pitt more access to the kids.
People magazine reported that the judge on the case told the Maleficent actress cutting Brad Pitt's access to kids -- Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne -- is 'harmful' to the kids.
"It is critical that each of [the six] children have a healthy and strong relationship with their father and mother,” read the documents on the website.
“If the minor children remain closed down to their father and depending on the circumstances surrounding this condition, it may result in a reduction of the time they spend with (Jolie) and may result in the Court ordering primary physical custody to (Pitt).”
Calling the leak a deplorable act, Jolie's representative said that the actress has always put the health and needs of her kids above everything else.
The statement read: "This misleading leak is not in the best interests of the children. From the start, Angelina has been focused only on their health and needs, which is why it was so important that this last court hearing be conducted privately.
"It’s deplorable that someone, for their own selfish reasons, leaked selective portions of the confidential and sealed court record to create an inaccurate and unfair picture of what is really happening."
Pitt's boozing and alleged feud with their eldest son Maddox were one of the reasons Jolie has made it difficult for Pitt to get custody of their kids.
The alleged incident led to an anonymous call being placed with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services over claims that the 52-year-old actor had been physically and verbally abusive towards Maddox.
Pitt had confessed in an interview with GQ about his alcohol addiction saying, "I was boozing too much. It's just become a problem. I can't remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn't boozing, or had a spliff, or something. I'm really, really happy to be done with all of that. I mean I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know, things I wasn't dealing with. I was boozing too much."
Jolie and Pitt met on the set of Mr. And Mrs. Smith in 2004 and married in an intimate ceremony on August 23, 2014 in Correns, France. After 12 years of relationship, they announced the split in September 2016
