Samsung Galaxy S10 may feature in-display fingerprint sensor and triple cameras
Samsung's next-in-line smartphone Galaxy S10 will bring significant number of changes compared to the current iteration.
One of the biggest improvements will be the in-display fingerprint sensor which also suggests that there will be leaner bezels than before. It is also speculated that the Galaxy S10 will come with the iPhone X-like facial recognition system, Engadget reported.
The Galaxy S10 Plus model is likely to come with three cameras similar to the Huawei P20 Pro. The upcoming model will be the company's 10th anniversary edition akin to the iPhone X.
Samsung is also long rumoured to be working on a foldable touch-screen smartphone. Now, a leakster has revealed what appears to be images of the purported smartphone. Called Project V, it is a dual-screen phone that might have been in development around 2015-2016, Engadget reported.
If the leaked images are anything to go by, the phone would have featured a single camera. Samsung clearly cancelled the model given that it never made it to the public. However, the company is still pursuing the idea of a foldable phone.
Samsung's rival, Apple is reportedly working a new foldable iPhone, which might be unveiled in 2020 as well. Bank of America Merrill Lynch has stated that the smartphone maker is working with its Asian partners on a foldable device which will be able to open up and be used like an iPad tablet.
According to report by CNBC, analyst Wamsi Mohan said, “We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past. Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.”
It should be noted that this isn’t the first time that rumours regarding a foldable device have surfaced online. Previously, reports suggested that Apple was working with LG Display to build a foldable iPhone. Apple has also filed a patent last year in which the company proposed to make an iPhone which can open and close like a book.
