Co-founder Steve Jobs lied to his daughter about name of the Apple Lisa

In her upcoming memoir, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs' daughter has revealed that her father lied about naming a computer after her. Apple Lisa was released in 1983 and as Lisa-Brennan Jobs was born in 1978, it was inferred that the computer was named after her, Mashable reported.

However, in her memoir titled Small Fry, Lisa-Brennan Jobs reveals that her father lied to her until she was 27 and U2 founder Bono exposed the truth. Lisa, short for Locally Integrated Software Architecture, was in fact a failure with 3,000 unsold units.

Apple CEO Tim Cook in a recent interview with news agency Bloomberg spoke on a number of topics ranging from company founder Steve Jobs, coming out to the public, and the thought of running for President of the United States.

On taking over after Jobs’ death, he said, "We have a really open company, so most of us could finish the other person’s sentences, even when we might disagree with them. So, it wasn’t a matter of Steve having a secret file or anything. He was always sharing his ideas — all the time. So, it was very different than that. Honestly, my view at that time was that he would be chairman and would do that forever, and we would sort of figure out the relationship change there. That’s what I thought. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way."
