6.5 lakh added in final voters’ list of Jaipur district
Compared to previous 2013 assembly election, nearly 6.5 lakh voters have been added in the final voters’ list of Jaipur district which was published by district collector Sidharth Mahajan on Friday. After conducting second review programme, the district administration has found 45.56 lakh voters who are eligible to cast votes. Out of them, 23.9 are male while 21.6 lakh are females. In 2013 assembly election the total voter count was 39.1 lakh which has reached 45.56 lakh with addition of nearly 6.5 lakh fresh voters. It is almost 16 per cent increase compared to the previous election.
“The final voters list of all 19 assembly constituencies have been released by the administration. The female voter ratio is 902 against 1,000 male in the district. Nearly 7,196 are registered service electorates in the list,” said Mahajan while talking to the scribes at collectorate office on Friday. He further stated that the district has 4,612 polling station and out of them 2,053 are in rural areas while 2,559 are in urban areas.
Interestingly, highest number of fake and multiple entries of voters have been found in Jaipur alone and their names were deleted accordingly.
Jaipur district administration has deleted 30,362 voters from the list under second review programme while total figure across the state stands at 31,032. This points out that 98 per cent fake voters were from Jaipur alone. According to the claims made by administration, 1,23,484 voters were added while 93,122 were deleted after physical verification.
