I can't digest this: Harbhajan Singh slams BCCI for not taking Rohit Sharma in Test squad against Windies
Even after receiving praise from Team India coach for winning the recently concluded Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma was not picked to be the part of Test squad against West Indies' tour of India. The All-India Senior Selection Committee picked the Indian team for the upcoming two-match Test series against the Caribbean side, starting October 4, on Saturday.
"Taking stock of the recent workload, the selectors have decided to rest Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Both Ishant Sharma and Hardik Pandya were not considered for selection, as they are yet to recover from their injuries," Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said in a statement.
No explanation was provided so as to the exclusion of Sharma who led the team in Asia Cup.
"Rohit was a calming influence and it showed in his captaincy. To keep his intensity going even after the start they had, showed he was really cool in every aspect of captaincy," said Ravi Shastri during post-match interaction with commentator Kevin Pietersen.
"The bowling changes he made were really good, to concede just around 100 runs in the last 30 overs, I thought it was brilliant," he added.
Turns out these words were not enough to get Mumbai lad a place in Test team. Harbhajan Singh was in disbelief after hearing the news and made his voice heard.
He tweeted, "No @ImRo45 in test team against West Indies..what r the selectors thinking actually??? Anyone have a clue ??? plz let me know as I can’t digest this"

Former captain Sourav Ganguly also seemed to be agreeing with Harbhajan Singh. He tweeted, "Great win Rohit and the team @ImRo45 ..u were exceptional...I get surprised every time I don’t see ur name in the test team ..it’s not far away .."
