Kachha baniyan gang targets family in Mansarovar, kills cop’s relative
In a shocking incident that occurred late on Friday night, members of the notorious Kachcha-Baniyan gang broke into a house and murdered an elderly woman while taking her grandson hostage as they conducted a loot in the house.
The gang, armed with a revolver and a screwdriver, targeted the house after they had failed in their attempt at entering two houses in the same colony. The deceased woman was the mother-in-law of an Additional Superintendent of Police posted in the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Shockingly, the house is located in one of the posh localities of Mansarovar and the colony has residence of retired judges, legislators, serving IAS and other bureaucrats.
The incident occurred in a house belonging to late Janardan Bisariya located at Bhrigu Path in Mansarovar. Janardan Bisariya’s wife - Pushpa (84) - lived in the house with her grandson – Harshvardhan alias Shaurya. Pushpa Devi is the mother-in-law of ASP Sanjeev Bhatnagar, currently posted in the SOG.“The incident occurred after 3 AM when three men armed with sharp-edged weapons and a gun entered the house by jumping from one of the two gates in the house. After entering the premises, the three men broke one of the window panes and entered the house. As the window glass broke, it made a sound and this alerted Harshvardhan who came out of his room to the check the cause of the sound,” sources said.
However, he came face to face with the three men. “One of the men was armed with a gun and he threatened to shoot Harshvardhan. The remaining gang members overpowered Harshvardhan and tied him. While they were still in the act, Pushpa Devi heard the commotion and came out of her room. On seeing the three men and Harshvardhan tied on the ground, the woman protested and bravely opposed the men. However, the men started beating her and one of them hit the woman on her neck with the screwdriver and caused a grievous injury,” sources said.
While Harshvardhan was on the floor helpless, Pushpa Devi slowly bled to death. “The trio opened the almirahs and safe in the house and collected all the valuables, cash and fled in the wee hours. Around 6 AM, Harshvardhan finally succeeded in freeing himself and informed the cops and locals about the happening after which cops rushed to the spot. A case has been registered and CCTV footage has been recovered based on which a bid has been initiated to identify the trio,” officials said.
