The last hope leaves Jaipur people stranded
It was a strange situation near SMS Stadium on Friday as the patients this time were not worried about being treated in the hospital but were searching for medical shops to buy medicine. They were seen by doctors in OPD Dhanwantri wing of the SMs Hospital and were given the prescription for the medicines. However, since the shops in front of SMS Hospital were closed, the patients were finding it difficult to get medicines. SMS Hospital is the state’s biggest hospital and patients from all across the state visit this hospital.
People from rural areas especially are referred to SMS Hospital and these people are not very technically sound that they could buy medicines online. Hence, they faced a lot of trouble.
“My wife is suffering from viral and doctor has given this prescription, but I am not able to find any shop which is open, why are we suffering because of this situation between chemists and the government,” said a senior citizen who had come to shops in front of SMS Hospital on Friday afternoon.
These shops in front of the hospital are the last resort of all the people searching medicines in the city. If a patient is not able to find medicine in any corner of the city, he finally runs to this area and usually finds the medicine.
On Friday, this option was not available to the patients. Most of these shops are open 24x7 but on Friday, they were closed for the whole day. A day earlier, chemist association had regretted over the closing of shops in the city and state but had said that they were against government policy over online pharmacy.
