Woman sexually harassed at home by neighbour in Naroda

A complaint was lodged with the Naroda police station on Friday by a 33-year-old woman after her neighbour forced his way into her house and tried to force her to have sex with him. When she resisted his efforts, the accused beat her up.

The Naroda police have nabbed the accused, identified as Parth Rajeshbhai Joshi (29), a resident of Hanspura area of Naroda. As per the complaint, on Friday afternoon, when the woman was alone at her apartment, Joshi forced his way inside the house and tried to force himself on her. When the woman resisted, the man got angry. He threatened to kill her if she didn't get in a physical relationship with him and then started beating her up.

After the incident took place, the woman, mother to a 6-year-old boy, lodged a complaint with the Naroda police station. Acting on the complaint, a team of Naroda police started an investigation and kept a lookout for Joshi who was on the run by then. On Monday, the police spotted him near his house and apprehended him.

Primary investigation revealed that Parth was infatuated with his neighbour and had made unwelcome advances towards her.

Inspector HB Vaghela of Naroda police station said, "We have nabbed the accused. After the incident took place, the accused fled from his house. A team was put on watch nearby and on Monday, when he was spotted, we nabbed him."
