'Disrespectful, shameful': Fans slam Harbhajan Singh for distasteful tweet against West Indies team
Harbhajan Singh received flak on Twitter on Friday after putting out a distasteful tweet regarding the West Indies cricket team.
India is currently taking on West Indies in a Test match in Rajkot, with the home team in complete control having posted 649/9 batting first. In reply, the Windies were reduced to 49/5, prompting Harbhajan to put out a scathing tweet against the visiting team.
"With all due respect to West Indies Cricket but I have a question for u all...will this west Indies team qualify for Ranji quarters from the plate group? Elite se to nahin hoga (they don't stand a chance in the elite group)," Bhajji tweeted.

While Harbhajan makes a fair point, with West Indies hardly putting up a fight against the No.1 Test team in the world, fans were not too pleased by the post. And we're not talking about West Indian fans, even Indians slammed the legendary off-spinner for his comment.
Fans reckoned that a person of Harbhajan's stature, who has played a mammoth 103 Tests and taken 417 wickets, could've avoided stooping so low.

With all due respect... this kind of behaviour is the reason you are sitting here and tweeting instead of playing. Very Disrespectful.

Without any respect, this is the same WI that got BAN for 41 runs. The same BAN that won on AUS and ENG. So please have some respect for other cricketing nations sir ji.

If English ex cricketgers had made such comments about our teams the previous tours in 2011 and 2014, how would you have reacted? Disrespectful

Paji, trolling should also have some limitations.

Being a former cricketer.. this is quite shameful..

This was the exact feeling England were having when we were out there playing against them in their home ground! Don't be arrogant for no reason! Forgot that you are a sportsman?? #INDvWI #sportsmanship #staygrounded #stayhumble

Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat in the ongoing first Test of the two-match series against West Indies. The hosts got to a ginormous total thanks to centuries from debutant Prithvi Shaw, Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja. Rishabh Pant (92) and Cheteshwar Pujara (86) made healthy contributions too.
After proving to be listless with the ball in hand, West Indies failed to put up a fight with the bat as well. The Kraigg Brathwaite-led side were reduced to 74/6 in 25.2 overs, with Mohammed Shami taking two wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin, Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav getting a scalp each.
