Kangana Ranaut sports fold-up ribbon braids with a saree at airport and the fashion police has never been more impressed
Leave it to Kangana Ranaut to make fashion statements out of her airport looks. As the Queen returned from Bhopal to Mumbai today, she left everyone wide-eyed with her '70s style hairdo.
The actress walked out in a custom-made pink colored saree by Madhurya Creations from their 'Power Sari' collection. We loved the subdued floral blouse and how the saree had words like 'Feminism' and 'Fierce' inscribed on it but the thing that caught most people's attention was her twin-folded braids which were tucked up with bright neon pink ribbons.
We love how confidently the actress pulled off the school-braids. Kangana accessorised the look with just a pair of retro sunnies and a sling bag. She is known to popularise sarees as a legit travel wear option but this time she went way beyond our expectations.
Pig tails were an integral part of the '70s fashion. Yesteryear actresses like Rekha, Sri Devi and Neetu Singh (now Kapoor) sported the hairdo with great elan - be it over maxis, salwar kameez or sarees. With her latest airport look, Kangana brought a forgotten trend back in vogue. And we are sure, it's going to go a long way.
On the work front, Kangana is currently working on Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's sports drama, 'Panga'. She will be next seen in 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', where she essays the role of Rani Laxmibai. The film, that marks the Bollywood debut of popular television actress Ankita Lokhande, will hit the screen next year on January 25.
A month later, Kangana will be seen in a completely different avatar in a psycho-thriller titled 'Mental Hai Kya', which is scheduled to release on February 19, 2019.
