T10 League: Pakhtoon survive Thisara scare to defeat Sindhis by eight runs
Pakhtoon managed to win a tight match against Sindhis on Saturday in T10 league played in UAE.
Chasing 138 to win, Sindhis fell short by 8 runs, ending the chase at 129/8. In the last over, it was 19 to win, but the Pakhtoons held their nerve to finally win the match. The Sindhis team had early jolt in their innings and except Shane Watson no one really got going. But all these changed with Thisara Perera playing a breezy cameo of 47 runs in just 13 balls, giving them a realistic shot at winning the match. But finally, too many wickets up front and Joffra Archer not firing in the death overs proved costly for the Sindhis.
Earlier, Pakhtoon managed to score 137 thanks to some lusty hitting from Andre Fletcher who top scored with undefeated 68. He was ably supported by Shafiqullah Shafaq. Ben Cutting was the pick of the bowlers for Sindhis taking 2 wickets for 14 runs. Finally it boiled down to better bowling performance from the Pakhtoons who managed to defend a formidable total with relative ease. Deservingly, Fletcher got the man of the match award.
