Heartbroken Thomas Markle on being cut-off from his daughter Meghan Markle: It would be easier for her if I died
Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding to Prince Harry was a spectacle to behold, and the entire world is currently in love with the couple. If anyone was apprehensive about the union in the first place, it would be Meghan’s family. While her father, Thomas, was initially supportive of the two, he later changed his tune when he saw how much his daughter was changing in the Royal household. In fact, he wasn't even there for the wedding due to health issues and surgery. A few critical statements for the Royal Family, however, left him cut-off from his daughter completely.
Speaking to The Mail, the heartbroken man talked about how he used to have a private number through which he could call or get in touch with his daughter, but now it has been disconnected.
“I'm really hurt that she's cut me off completely. I used to have a phone number and text number for her personal aides at the Palace, but after I said a few critical words about the Royal Family changing Meghan, they cut me off. Those numbers were disconnected, they no longer work. I have no way of contacting my daughter,” Thomas said.
He elaborated that he’s not only sad about not being able to talk to his daughter, but also the fact that he might not be able to meet or even see his grandchild, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s firstborn, either. This fact seems to have broken Thomas even more.
“What's sad is that some time in the next year Meghan and Harry will have a baby and I'll be a grandfather, and if we're not speaking I won't see my grandchild. How tragic is that, to deprive a child of its grandfather because I said a few things critical of the Royal Family?” Thomas added.
At this point, the only thing he thinks that could be good for his daughter is if he were to die. “Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died. Everybody would be filled with sympathy for her. But I hope we reconcile. I'd hate to die without speaking to Meghan again,” he said.
