AMC notice to 48 units for mosquito breeding

The civic body on friday issued notices to 48 units and levied administrative charges from 58 units for being mosquito breeding sites. The places include hospitals, schools and construction sites. The health department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation began inspecting the mosquito breeding sites across the city after the rains.

"As they are having more open spaces , it is leading to increasing number of breeding sites. We are keeping a regular tab on schools and construction sites. Such places have mosquitoes in abundance," said Dr Bhavin Solanki, in-charge medical officer of health.

"On Friday, the team inspected 536 units of which 208 units were served notices," he said.
