Ahmedabad: BJP leader alleges fake ASI NOC for construction
A BJP leader has written a letter to municipal commissioner Vijay Nehra asking him to look into the matter of No Objection Certificate (NOC) of Archaeological Survey of India for the construction in walled part of the city.
In the letter, he wrote that AJ Chhipa has produced a fake certificate of ASI for the commercial-cum-residential type of construction in the walled city.
"There might be around 30 to 35 such constructions using fake ASI documents. I've written to the municipal commissioner," said Amit Shah, leader of BJP at AMC. It is to be noted that several contractors had produced fake bitumen bills of IOC. A tip of the iceberg in the road scam was found by the then road and building committee chairman.
Even a departmental inquiry was sought by the then municipal commissioner Mukesh Kumar and had suspended seven engineers.
The AMC post holders are fearing that the same modus operandi has been adopted by the engineer to clear the titles of the construction.
Standing committee chairman Amul Bhatt said they will look into the matter and also ask the commissioner to cross-check the document submitted by the builders.
"We will find a way for a fact check such cases. I will ask the commissioner to ask the ASI whether they have issued such certificates, after receiving this kind of NOC by AMC," he said.
