BJP, Congress cyber battles have begun
Even before the electioneering could begin, the BJP and the Congress are fighting pitched battles on social media.
The Congress has gone ballistic on the BJP by targeting it on several issues like Rafale deal, rising petrol, diesel prices and increase in inflation. On the other hand, the BJP has instructed its social media warriors to accelerate the attack on the Congress and at the same time highlight welfare schemes of the state and central governments.
Its cyber warriors have been instructed to post videos of beneficiaries of welfare schemes and pin the Congress on these instances by asking why this did not happen during the Congress rule.
State election in-charge and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar in meetings of the party's social media cell and media cell instructed BJP leaders to give factual answers to Congress's allegations. "All the party workers will work on the social media platform on the basis of facts and logic to create an environment in favour of the party. Social media has a major role in the present time. That is why we answer Congress's allegations on social media," union minister Javadekar said.
"We will make a 30-second video of each beneficiary of the Central and State Government schemes and post it on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp etc. Present the achievements of the Central and the State Government with the figures in front of the public," said union minister.
Javadekar gave the example of Ujjwala Yojna, Clean Bharat Mission and Chief Minister Jal Swavalamban Yojana, saying that "we should ask the Congress with information about our plans why they have not done it in 50 years?"
Javadekar told BJP spokespersons and TV panelists that you keep the information of the central and state government in front of the media. Give every information with facts and figures. BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi advised spokespersons and TV panelists to maintain restraint on language. Trivedi said that words, language and style are of great importance in journalism, and need the wisdom to speak and keep quiet. Trivedi instructed the state media cell to start a media centre in all the seven division headquarters by next week.
